Project Overview – The works comprised of asbestos removal, demolition of 29nr buildings and crushing of hardcore on site.
Scope of Work – All services were disconnected, capped off and made safe prior to commencement of work. The site was cordoned off from the public by heras fencing. The fencing was both checked in the morning and evening to ensure site safety.
All bonded and fibrous asbestos was removed by Smiths and taken to Hills Waste Solutions, Swindon. 4-stage air clearances were carried out to all buildings containing notifiable asbestos ready for demolition. A background air test was carried out whilst the contaminated spoiled heaps were moved.
Prior to the demolition all ecological and tree protection issues and conditions were resolved.
The inside of the buildings were soft stripped and then demolished down to ground level.
All general waste and scrap was removed from site and taken to Smiths Waste Management Facility at Moreton Valence. All hardcore was stockpiled on site and crushed to 6f2.
The site was left in a tidy and safe condition.
