Health and Safety

Health and Safety at Smiths

Everything we do relies upon the safety of our workforce and the communities around us and so the health and safety of employees, clients and visitors is essential. We aim to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all and provide them with necessary information, instruction and training to achieve this aim. We do this by working safely and in a responsible manner and delivering projects in a safe and timely manner.

Approach to Safety:

Our approach to safety focuses on four main activities:

  • Identifying hazards and assessing the risks associated with our products and operations
  • Developing and implementing operational controls with built-in layers of protection to reduce the impact of those risks
  • Monitoring and maintaining our hazard recognition, risk assessment and control activities to ensure they are current and effective
  • Reacting to correct gaps in our protective systems and continuously improving system ability
