Smiths Expands Waste Management Operations with Oxfordshire Acquisition

Smiths is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of the Oxfordshire operations of independent waste management business McCarthy Marland, further strengthening our presence across the region and reinforcing our commitment to delivering sustainable waste management services.

The acquisition, completed on 18 September 2026, includes McCarthy Marland’s waste transfer station in Wantage (formerly Aasvogel Recycling & Skip Hire) and its associated collection operations. The addition enhances Smiths’ ability to serve customers throughout Oxfordshire and surrounding areas while supporting continued growth within our waste management division.
