Bristol Port Company

Our Demolition department have been working on a variety of projects at Bristol Port since December 2020

This year they have demolished several buildings to make way for vehicle parking and new grain stores.

A particular project of note is the old fuel tanks, pictured right. The tanks were big structures which required careful handling in order to be broken up safely.

Demoliton has now started work on the ‘Granary 5’ building, a former mill and grain store. It is a 12 storey structure and will require a specialist longreach machine to reach the top. This project will run for the next twelve months and will involve Smiths Plant, Transport, Skips and Waste Management teams to ensure that we get the job done efficiently and on time.

We are also in the final planning stages to dismantle the Coal Conveyor which currently can be seen from the M5 as you drive over the bridge in Avonmouth. There have been some challenges to overcome to get to this stage, needless to say we are very keen to get it started.
