Project Overview:
The construction of Triumph Actuation Systems’ new facility for the design, development and assembly of aircraft landing gear which is located on the old Golden Castle Caravans site next to Gloucestershire airport.
Scope of Work:
Smiths were involved from start to finish carrying out site clearance, all aspects of groundworks including an 825mm diameter storm water diversion, the construction of an internal concrete power floated slab finished to FM2 flatness and the completion of all external work finishes.
The site clearance generated approximately 1200T of 6f2 crushed granular which formed part of the pile mat with the remaining balance of 4500T of recycled 6f2 being transported in from Smith Materials Recycling Centre at Moreton Valence, Gloucester.
The internal slab preparation involved the services of our Laser Levelling division which levelled and compacted 4000m2 of Type 1 to the required tolerances.
The external works involved 2000m2 of permeable block paving to car parking bays, the construction of tarmac access roads, block paved footpaths and included a concrete service apron to 2 of the 4 building elevations of in which all were finished to a high standard.
