Considerable investment has brought about a 50% increase in the heavy goods fleet at Smith’s. To compliment this growth two strategically placed operating centres have been opened. Tewkesbury to the north of Gloucestershire and Moreton Valence on the outskirts of the city of Gloucester in the south. With greater diversity in the placement of the fleet there is an opportunity to provide our customers with the very best level of service.

Operating within Gloucestershire, the South West, South Wales and the Midlands with a large fleet of tipper lorries at our disposal (consisting of four wheelers, six wheelers and eight wheelers) we have the versatility to tackle any job. Whether it is a ten tonne delivery of topsoil or the removal of ten thousand tonnes of inert material, we have the capacity to move it when you want.

We can supply the very best quality recycled aggregates at very competitive rates. 40mm and 75mm certified crushed concrete in ten, sixteen and twenty tonne loads are more environmentally friendly and a cheaper alternative to quarried materials. We also supply a complete range of quality sands, gravel and stone at very competitive prices. High quality screened topsoil and recycled hardcore is also available from our own recycling centre.

Our chipliner trailers can be seen running daily from our recycling centre to Chirk near Wrexham delivering over five hundred tonnes per week of wood chip for the manufacture of chipboard. Our trailers are back loaded with products including chipboard and fertilizer for delivery to the West Country whilst the heavy haulage fleet deliver plant and machinery throughout the country on our low loader trailers.

During twenty years of operation we are proud to have been of service to many internationally known companies such as Edmund Nuttall, Norwest Holst, RMC, Laing, Bovis and Hanson. We have been heavily involved with environmental projects working alongside DEFRA and the Environment Agency. One of our key objectives has always been to maintain our customers within the local community, working to improve the standards of the area in which we live and bring employment and prosperity to our region.
