This has enabled Smith's Support Services to take a proactive approach on maintenance programmes and infrastructure developments.

The Transport department is located on the Head Office site and is a purpose built seven bay workshop facility. The latest diagnostic technology and manufacturer's training back up the current team of experienced mechanics. The workshop boasts a fully integrated rolling road which can be used for brake testing (laden or empty); as a weighbridge and as a speed limiter tester, all to ministry specification. There are floor plates for axle and kingpin joints, a headlight beam setter and steam cleaning facilities.

This ensures that Smith's Support Services are able to schedule maintenance, testing and servicing to meet the demands of their business.

Offering all types of general engineering, our specialised Engineering department are a dedicated team of highly experienced and skilled welders, fabricators and steelworkers. Versatility is one of our major strengths and we pride ourselves on tailoring our services to meet our customers' needs. Our broad spectrum of services include:-
