Smith’s are playing a major part in the redevelopment of the former Gloucester Cattle Market having been awarded the demolition and construction projects.
As main contractor Balfour Beatty selected Smith’s because of the wide range of quality services available - offering a ‘complete solution.’ Throughout the project service will be required from many of our experienced divisions including Demolition, Construction, Transport, Plant Hire, Waste Management, Skip Hire and Laser Levelling.
With all divisions being integrated it makes progression and communication more successful leading to better time management and a greater understanding of the project as a whole thus reducing the cost for the main contractor.
The 53 acre site will be transformed over the coming months into a modern retail, residential and leisure complex to be called ‘St Oswald’s Park.’ 70% of the retail units have been let, with the project's flagship B&Q Warehouse as well as Argos, Comet, JJB and restaurants including Frankie and Benny’s, Pizza Hut and Brewer’s Fayre being some of the tenants already signed up.
St Oswald’s Park is part of a major regeneration scheme for Gloucester city.
Smith’s are proud to be part of this project as well as other major developments in Gloucester including the South West Bypass and the new Police Headquarters.
