Waste Management & Recycling

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

Waste Management and Recycling are key environmental issues that have been pushed to the top of the news agenda in the last few years. The way in which we deal with the growing challenge of the increase in domestic and trade waste is now subject to strict legislation and regulation from both United Kingdom and European governments.

Smith's (Gloucester) Ltd has invested heavily in its regional Waste Management division over the past few years. From the construction of a bespoke recycling centre at Moreton Valence south of Gloucester to the opening of a dedicated office at Tewkesbury, Smiths has shown its commitment to recycling in our region. With further investment in the pipeline Smiths Waste Management and Recycling is looking forward to an exciting period of growth and setting itself some stretching recycling targets.

Smiths Waste Management now comprises four waste transfer stations across the region in South Wales, Avonmouth, Tewkesbury and Moreton Valence. These stations feed the County's only Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Moreton Valence.

Smiths Waste Management has the capability to service just about any recycling need. Whether you are a householder in need of a skip and some advice on removing waste or a commercial organisation with a requirement for Trade Waste Management planning, Smiths experienced team can provide you with professional and friendly guidance with service designed to meet your needs.

Customer Service

After you have become a Smiths customer you will be allocated an Account Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that Smiths deliver the service that we promise.  The Account Manager will be your point of contact for all development issues and he/she will be available to you throughout the period of our contract.

As we get to know you better we will tailor our service to the changing requirements of your business. The Account Manager's input will include monitoring key performance indicators, keeping abreast of compliance to legislation, making proposals for improving waste generation, recycling and monitoring cost and quality control.

Our ultimate aim is to become an indispensible partner for your business, where you rely on us and value the contribution that we can make to your organisation.

Environmentally aware

As a company involved in recycling we have to be aware of the environment around us. For this reason and to ensure we practise what we preach, Smiths has developed an Environmental Agenda. Constantly under review and a benchmark for performance, the Environmental Agenda is a firm statement of our commitment to continuous improvement.
